About Artificial
Help shape the future of specialty insurance
At Artificial, we’re building the next generation of technology for the specialty (re)insurance market. Our mission is to transform how brokers and carriers operate in complex markets by removing operational barriers and enabling smarter, faster decision-making.
We use modern technology to solve real challenges for some of the world’s leading brokers and insurers. By automating the repetitive and structuring the complex, we help our partners unlock new opportunities for innovation and growth.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team that values curiosity, ownership, and continuous learning. We work in an environment where ideas are heard, support is built-in, and outcomes matter. Everyone here has the chance to make a tangible impact on our products, our customers, and the industry.
We've just raised $45M (£33M) in Series B funding from lead investor CommerzVentures, new investor Move Capital, as well as all existing shareholders. This investment round gives us the room to grow with confidence, continue to innovate, and ensure that Artificial remains the first choice for brokers and carriers seeking a smarter way to trade digitally.
Join us, and take the chance to be a part of something that will change the landscape of insurance for generations.
Role Background
We're looking for a Product Operations Lead - part process architect, part agile coach, part metrics steward, to serve as the enabling backbone of our product organisation.
Our Product Team work across three modes: Discovery, Delivery and Optimisation, with Product Operations as a core enabling function to all three. We call this DDO+.
You will embed governance and best practice across our PM’s three working modes while coaching teams through new ways of working rooted in Shape Up, Team Topologies, and HEART principles. You are an enabler, not a gatekeeper: you encourage discipline through clarity, not control.
We are currently scaling our Product offering, so you'll be joining an established team of product, insurance, and technical experts meeting the demands of a growing client pipeline.
Your goal is to reduce cognitive load, accelerate value flow, and ensure our operating model (DDO+) scales effectively as we grow from ~75 to ~150 headcount.
Please note, this is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week based at our HQ (City of London.)
Responsibilities
Process governance: Own and iterate DDO+ artefacts - readiness criteria, Definition of Done, Team APIs, escalation protocols, decision-rights matrices, and circuit-breaker conditions - keeping processes lightweight and adjusting as the organisation learns
Agile coaching and change management: Coach individuals, teams, and leadership in DDO+ ways of working; champion an agile mindset; surface adoption barriers to the CPO; and help teams understand the "why" behind every process change
Ceremony stewardship: Facilitate ceremonies across working modes (Betting Table prep, retrospectives, OKR reviews, team health surveys); enforce an async-first default and a ≤20% desirable PM ceremony-time ceiling
OKR alignment: Ensure a clear throughline from bets to OKRs across all three working modes; own tracking dashboards; facilitate quarterly alignment workshops; and evidence the "closed-loop cycle" rate
Capacity planning: Forecast availability, balance workload, and make capacity constraints visible flag under-shaping and inform hiring plans with data
Metrics and continuous improvement: Partner with Optimisation to connect HEART Goals → Signals → Metrics to company OKRs; own the four-tier measurement framework (Flow, Team Health, Business Impact, Scaling Readiness); produce diagnostics and run blameless retrospectives
Tools and documentation: Administer the product tech stack (Linear, FullStory, roadmapping tools); maintain templates and process docs; curate a searchable corpus of lessons learned
Enablement and PM development: Design onboarding programmes and Shape Up immersion for new hires; support T-shaped PM development through rotations across working modes, coaching, and peer learning
Reporting: Produce per-cycle flow metrics, quarterly team health reports; provide concise, regular updates to the CPO and C-Suite
Cross-functional liaison: Coordinate with Engineering, Experience, Solutions/FDEs, and Customer Success to align Team APIs and interaction patterns across the organisation
About you
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
Significant experience in product operations, agile coaching, programme management, or a similar process-governance role within a product-led organisation
Proven ability to design and embed lightweight processes (readiness criteria, escalation paths, definitions of done) without creating bureaucracy
Deep coaching and facilitation experience - you can teach, mentor, and guide people through change with patience and clarity
Comfort with data: experience with product analytics, instrumentation audits, OKR tracking, or similar measurement systems
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels
Understanding of team dynamics, resistance to change, and how to earn trust quickly across diverse groups
People Skills and Behaviours
Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment with all the ambiguity this presents
Comfortable being an enabler, not a gatekeeper - you encourage discipline through clarity, not control

You understand that "high trust is non-negotiable" - and you model this in every interaction
A bias towards action, paired with the patience to steward long-term change and great outcomes
We especially want to hear from you if you have:
Implemented a product operating model or scaling framework at a growing company (e.g. ~75 → ~150 headcount)
Worked as an Agile Coach or Delivery Lead and are looking to broaden into a strategic product operations role
Familiarity with Shape Up, Team Topologies, or similar scaling frameworks
Experience with the HEART framework, DORA metrics, or comparable measurement systems
