What We Offer
About Us
The mission of Cambridge Aerospace is to eliminate the risk of existential war in Europe. That risk comes from the air – low-cost drones and cruise missiles now manufactured in colossal volumes by our adversaries, ballistic missiles capable of ending the world as we know it, and a new generation of hypersonic weapons that evade every existing defence.
We’re building low-cost interceptors that defeat these threats, and the surveillance systems to detect and target them – at a cost taxpayers can afford, at the pace the threat demands, and with sovereign supply chains that assure delivery.
We have immense backing from the world’s best venture funds. We’re one of the fastest growing defence technology companies in history. And we’re hiring the best engineers to prosecute the mission.
If you are in the top 1%, willing to work harder than you ever have, build technology better than anyone else, and contribute to the defining challenge of our time, now is the time to join us.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
As an Electronics Engineer, you will transform innovative concepts into robust, deployable hardware solutions. From requirements capture and circuit design through to prototyping, test, validation, and production, you will play a key role in developing the avionics and other electronic systems at the heart of our platforms. Working across areas such as embedded systems, power electronics, sensor networks, RF, high-speed digital, and electro-mechanical systems, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, high-performance products. You will take designs from initial concept through manufacture and qualification, helping bring advanced technologies from development into real-world operation.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and testing of electronics subsystems including embedded systems, electro-mechanical systems, power distribution, sensor nodes and processing systems.
- Create schematics and multilayer PCB layouts for embedded, mixed signal, high‑speed digital, RF, and power electronics using industry‑standard CAD tools
- Collaborate with other disciplines such as Software, FPGA and Mechanical Engineering to develop hardware architectures.
- Build and evaluate prototypes, perform debugging, and conduct hardware validation using lab equipment
- Integrate electronic modules into wider system architectures ensuring compatibility with other subsystems
- Own electronic designs as they are scaled up for production manufacture and taken through testing for reliability and EMC compliance.
Requirements
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Strong knowledge of electronic design fundamentals
- Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Cadence)
- Experience with embedded hardware, microcontrollers, and digital interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, LVDS, etc.)
- Hands‑on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, VNAs, logic analysers
- Understanding of EMC/EMI design principles
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and standards
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Experience in fast-paced R&D or startup environments, with rapid prototype iteration times
- Experience taking electronic hardware to production manufacture
- Strong knowledge of power electronics or electro-mechanical systems
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation and stock options
- Private Medical & Dental
- Cycle to work scheme
- Lunchtime catering on site
