Cocoon is a climate technology platform that develops sustainable technology to manage industrial waste through carbon capture. It develops sustainable construction materials by transforming industrial steelmaking byproducts into low-carbon cement substitutes used in concrete and cement production. The company’s core technology converts Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) slag—a byproduct of modern steelmaking—into a supplementary cementitious material called LoopCem, which integrates with existing infrastructure to partially replace traditional Portland cement and reduce embodied carbon in building materials.

Its process accelerates slag cooling and granulation to produce a high-performance SCM with consistent reactivity and mechanical performance that aligns with industry standards, enabling cement and concrete producers to blend LoopCem into their formulations without major operational changes.
