Product / Software Engineer (We’re building a science-driven AI product used by global brands to test ideas against synthetic populations. You’ll get to work directly with founders who previously led national-scale data and AI programmes. This role isn’t about implementing tickets. You’ll help shape how the product works, make architectural decisions, and ship software that directly changes how companies make decisions.)

Role
Who you are
- You’ve shipped real software that people rely on. Not just prototypes or internal tools.
- You’re comfortable operating with high autonomy and making decisions without heavy process.
- You enjoy turning messy product ideas into working systems.
- You think in trade-offs, not absolutes; speed vs clarity vs long-term architecture.
- You’re excited by building something early enough that your decisions genuinely shape the product.
- You want to work closely with founders, product and design, not sit behind a ticket queue.
Desirable
- Experience working on AI-driven or data-heavy products.
- Comfort working in a high-agency environment where engineers influence product direction.
- Experience improving or refactoring systems while continuing to ship features.
- Interest in LLM-assisted development or experimenting with new engineering workflows.
What the job involves
- Building core product features used by real customers, not internal experiments.
- Contributing to a high-agency culture where engineers own outcomes, not just code.
- Working across the full stack to shape how the product behaves. From UI clarity and usability through to backend architecture and AI orchestration.
- Making product and technical decisions alongside founders, design, and science teams.
- Interest in AI-native development workflows or experimenting with new ways to build software faster.
Application process
- Stage 1: Alignment call (30 mins)
- Stage 2: In depth intro & engineering conversation (60 mins, video call): An introduction to Electric Twin and the role, followed by a discussion of your background and a real engineering problem you’ve worked on. We’re interested in how you think, make decisions, and reflect on real work
- Stage 3: Code review & design session (90 mins, in person): A collaborative session reviewing a small codebase and working through a system design problem together. We’re interested in your thinking, trade-offs, and approach — not getting to a “perfect” answer
- Stage 4: Team & founder conversations (in person): Time with the wider team and founders to go deeper on ways of working, mutual fit, and any remaining questions on both sides
