Role Overview:

As Security Engineer, you will design, build and operate the security architecture that protects Isembard’s factories, MasonOS platform and customer data environments. You will secure both cloud infrastructure and on-site operational technology (OT), ensuring our manufacturing network meets aerospace, defence and critical-industry standards.
This role spans IT, OT and product security. You will work closely with software engineers, machinists, robotics engineers and factory GMs to embed security into every layer of the stack — from CNC-connected networks to customer-facing APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

Harden infrastructure across factory and cloud environments
Implement zero-trust identity and access controls
Design monitoring, detection, and incident response capabilities
Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability remediation
Embed secure-by-design practices into MasonOS development and deployments
Secure factory-connected and operational technology systems

Required Skills:

Infrastructure and cloud security expertise
Strong threat modelling and risk analysis ability
Experience implementing security tooling and monitoring systems
Experience operating in regulated or high-assurance environments

Desirable Experience

Experience securing manufacturing environments
Knowledge of Cyber Essentials, ITAR, CMMC, export controls or defence compliance requirements
Experience working in fast-scaling startups

What We Offer:

Responsibility for securing mission-critical industrial infrastructure
Exposure to defence-grade operational environments
Equity participation
Strategic influence over cross-site infrastructure standards
Opportunity to define secure-by-design factory networks
