Quality Engineer
Location: London
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive
Equity: Benchmarked
Role Overview:
You will build and command the quality system that underpins Isembard’s entire industrial network.
This is the role that determines whether Isembard becomes a trusted manufacturing partner to the world’s most demanding aerospace, defence, and energy companies.
You are the final authority on whether parts ship. You are the standard-setter for every factory we operate and every franchise we enable.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Quality System
Architect and scale a unified ISO9001 / AS9100D quality system across owned and franchised factories
Define what “good” looks like — and enforce it without compromise
Factory-Level Execution
Design inspection strategies (FAIRs, in-process, final inspection) for high-precision components
Establish frameworks that actually drive yield, not just reporting
Audit & Compliance
Lead internal, external, and customer audits
Own franchise site certification and ongoing compliance
Root Cause & Continuous Improvement
Personally lead critical root cause investigations
Build a culture where problems are surfaced early and solved permanently
Customer Trust
Act as the senior quality interface to primes and high-stakes customers
Shorten sales cycles by being a credible, trusted authority
Required Skills:
Deep experience owning or running AS9100 / ISO9001 systems in high-precision manufacturing
Background in aerospace, defence, or similarly regulated industries
Proven ability to design and implement QMS from first principles
Strong command of capability analysis, and process control
Experience leading audits, certifications, and customer quality interactions
High judgement: willing to stop production when needed and defend that decision
What We Offer:
Full ownership of quality across a rapidly scaling industrial network
Direct influence on customer trust, revenue, and company trajectory
Equity in a company building the next-generation manufacturing platform
A seat at the table as we scale across the UK, US, and Europe
The opportunity to build a world-class quality culture from day one

We enable faster and cheaper products to be made for critical industries by combining advanced machine tools, robotics and our proprietary software, MasonOS. The components we manufacture are used in aerospace, defence, energy and other strategically important sectors.
