LabCycle is the world's first company to recycle hazardous plastic waste from laboratories (service) as well as the first to create 100% recycled laboratory consumables (product). Working with public and private labs, we are driving the circular economy of lab plastics to reduce the 5.5 million tonnes of lab waste annually. A few highlights of our progress to date: • Proven impact - saving 90% of CO2 emissions and 93% energy compared to current alternatives: incineration and autoclave (LCA available upon request). • Technological validation creating the world's first 100% circular lab consumables including petri dishes, test tubes, and more. • Secured commercial contracts with the NHS, several private companies, and also universities. We are raising £1.5 million to scale our patent-pending technology to serve our growing demand after over 150 organic expressions of interest following our feature in BBC News. The funding will establish the first automated decontamination system of our network, recycling over 350 tonnes annually, saving over 1,000 tonnes of carbon.
