- Prepare UK and international VAT returns, including EU and other jurisdictional filings where required.
- Review VAT returns for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with underlying transactions.
- Submit VAT filings on time and manage related compliance obligations across jurisdictions.
- Prepare EC Sales Lists and Intrastat returns linked to cross-border activity.
- Support VAT-related reporting and administrative obligations connected to international operations.
- Review import VAT, customs documentation, and postponed VAT accounting treatments.
- Coordinate with logistics teams, finance teams, and customs agents on import and export VAT matters.
- Ensure accurate VAT accounting within finance systems through reconciliations and postings.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes with VAT-related accounting inputs.
- Assess the VAT treatment of cross-border movements of goods and services.
- Advise on technical VAT matters including place of supply, reverse charge, triangulation, and VAT recovery considerations.
- Partner with the Tax team and external advisors to support cross-border operating and supply chain design.
- Embed VAT compliance into business processes as the company expands into new markets.
- Contribute to VAT controls, documentation, and governance across Finance Operations.
- Help build scalable and efficient VAT processes within a fast-moving, global environment.
About You

- ACA, CTA, ATT, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification with a strong focus on VAT or indirect tax.
- Strong practical knowledge of UK VAT and a solid working understanding of EU and cross-border VAT principles.
- Experience supporting digital, technology-driven, or international businesses with complex VAT requirements.
- Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, and Intrastat filings.
- Familiarity with imports, exports, customs documentation, and postponed VAT accounting.
- Ability to assess technical VAT topics such as place of supply, reverse charge, triangulation, and VAT recovery.
- Experience partnering with stakeholders across Tax, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, and external advisors.
- Strong attention to detail with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to improving processes.
