About The Role

We're hiring an International Tax Director to shape and lead Nscale's international tax strategy as the business expands globally.

Reporting to the Head of Tax, this role sits at the center of Nscale's cross-border growth. You'll work closely with Legal, Finance, and Commercial teams, partnering across jurisdictions to advise on structuring decisions, transfer pricing, compliance support, and tax governance in a fast-moving environment.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a senior tax leader who brings both deep technical expertise and strong commercial judgment. Your work will help build a scalable global tax framework, support international operations, and lay the foundations for a world-class international tax function as Nscale continues to grow.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and execute Nscale's international tax strategy in line with business goals, capital structure, and operating model.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on the tax implications of global expansion and cross-border operations.
  • Assess how international tax considerations should support commercial and legal structuring decisions.
  • Provide tax input on cross-border transactions, IP structuring, and global expansion activity.
  • Design and implement transfer pricing policies aligned with OECD and local requirements.
  • Oversee transfer pricing documentation across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Partner on intercompany arrangements, intra-group service models, and funding structures.
  • Lead or support tax aspects of audits, filings, disclosures, and interactions with tax authorities worldwide.
  • Support the Tax compliance team across multiple jurisdictions in documenting technical positions.
  • Cover technical matters spanning corporate income tax, GST/VAT, and transfer pricing.
  • Monitor regional legislative and regulatory developments across key markets.
  • Evaluate business impacts and advise leadership on proactive responses.
  • Contribute to internal controls, policies, and governance frameworks in line with best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal, Finance, and Commercial teams on international tax matters.
  • Build scalable processes that support Nscale's rapid global expansion.
  • Play a key role in building the international tax team as the business scales.

About You

  • 12+ years of experience in international tax, ideally across both Big 4 and in-house environments.
  • ACA, CTA, ATID, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Strong experience leading cross-border structuring, transfer pricing, and tax planning initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge of UK, EU, US, and APAC tax frameworks.
  • Strong working knowledge of OECD guidance and related documentation requirements.
  • Experience advising on IP structuring, intercompany arrangements, and funding structures.
  • Proven ability to support or lead tax matters across audits, filings, disclosures, and tax authority interactions.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • A commercially minded approach and the judgment to balance technical rigor with business priorities.
  • High adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced, agile, high-growth environment.
