About the Role

We’re hiring a Director, Financial Control - EMEA to serve as the key finance leader connecting regional operations with central finance, ensuring strong financial control, statutory compliance, and accurate reporting in a high-growth AI infrastructure business.

This role sits within Accounting and Reporting and reports to the VP, Accounting Operations. You’ll work closely with Group Accounting, Tax, Finance Operations, operational teams, and commercial stakeholders to align local financial, statutory, operational, and tax requirements with group reporting and control standards.

This is a highly visible opportunity for someone who brings sound judgment, thrives in ambiguity, and can influence across functions without direct authority. Your work will be central to building scalable, robust financial processes that support rapid growth while maintaining high standards of governance, compliance, and reporting integrity.

What you'll be doing

  • Act as the regional finance lead and primary point of contact between central finance teams and local operations.
  • Bridge local statutory, operational, and tax requirements with group reporting and control standards.
  • Partner across Group Accounting, Tax, Finance Operations, and operational teams to ensure financial integrity and alignment.
  • Own and coordinate the month-end close for your region in partnership with the central accounting team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across regional activities.
  • Oversee the integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and core financial controls.
  • Support IFRS and/or US GAAP reporting requirements and maintain alignment between local and group reporting standards.
  • Ensure local statutory reporting and compliance requirements are met, including local GAAP, tax, VAT/sales tax, and regulatory filings where applicable.
  • Coordinate and support external audits and local statutory audits, acting as the main point of contact for auditors where applicable.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and continuously improve processes to strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Partner with operational teams to translate business activity into accurate financial treatment, including leases, revenue recognition, cost allocations, and capitalisation policies.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes at a regional or cost-centre level alongside Finance Operations and operational leaders.
  • Provide financial insight and constructive challenge to senior stakeholders through data-driven analysis.
  • Identify gaps between local operational realities and group processes, then proactively solve issues and implement improvements.

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent credentials
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP, with experience in local GAAP and statutory reporting where applicable
  • Experience operating in a multi-entity, international environment
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, audit processes, and regulatory compliance
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Comfortable partnering between centralised finance functions and local operational teams
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical accounting matters into clear business implications
  • Confident communicator in English, both written and verbal; local language capability may be required where applicable
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and comfortable making decisions in an evolving scale-up environment
