About the Role

The Director, Accounting Operations will lead and scale the company's centralized accounting operations, together with the VP, Accounting Operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strongfinancial controls across all entities within the group. This role oversees the General Ledger (GL),Record-to-Report (R2R) processes, lease accounting, fixed asset management, cashreconciliations, and related operational accounting functions. The ideal candidate is a strategic,systems-oriented leader who can build scalable processes, drive continuous improvement, and partner cross-functionally to support the company’s growth.

What You’ll be Doing

Leadership & Strategy

  • Oversee all Accounting Operations functions, including GL accounting, R2R, lease accounting, fixed asset management, intercompany accounting, and cash/bankreconciliations.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year vision for scalable, efficient accounting operationsacross the group.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global Accounting Operations team; foster a culture ofaccountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive standardization, automation, and process optimization across all accountingworkflows and systems.

Operational Excellence

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP & IFRS).
  • Maintain a robust control environment and support internal/external audits.
  • Build and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for accounting operations; identifyissues, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee lease accounting (ASC 842/IFRS 16) and fixed asset lifecycle processes, ensuringproper recognition, depreciation, impairment analysis, and reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of account reconciliations, journal entries, andfinancial schedules.

Systems, Tools & Automation

  • Partner with Finance Systems, IT, and other stakeholders to enhance ERP capabilities, design workflow automation, and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manual work, strengthen controls, and improve financial reporting quality.
  • Evaluate new technologies, tools, and processes to enhance accounting operationsefficiency.

Collaboration & Business Partnership

  • Partner with regional and functional finance teams, procurement, treasury, and IT to align processes and drive cross-functional efficiencies.
  • Support key business initiatives by providing accounting operational insights, and scalable process design for new products, markets, or acquisitions.
  • Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes and timely resolution of issues.

About You

  • Proven leadership experience in large-scale, multi-entity, global accounting operations.
  • A good understanding of accounting standards (IFRS and US GAAP) and a deep expertise in operational accounting processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and manage shared service or centralizedaccounting functions.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems (NetSuite) and financial process automation.
  • Experience leading through transformation—driving standardization, efficiency, andautomation.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (required).
  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience, including at least 3years in a senior management role overseeing accounting operations
