About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Manager, Financial Consolidations to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of Nscale’s financial consolidation processes and systems.
Reporting to the Director of Consolidations, this role sits within Finance and partners closely with Finance leadership, external auditors, and cross-functional teams across Controlling, FP&A, Accounting, IT, Legal, and Tax. You will help shape consolidation strategy, system architecture, process design, and team leadership as Nscale scales across multiple jurisdictions and business units.
This is a pivotal role for a high-growth business. Your work will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across global operations while building best-in-class consolidation practices that support strategic decision-making and stakeholder confidence.
What you'll be doing
- Develop and evolve Nscale’s consolidation framework to support growth across multiple entities, geographies, and reporting standards including US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAP.
- Design scalable consolidation processes that balance accuracy, timeliness, and operational efficiency as the business expands.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of consolidation software and related platforms such as OneStream and Workiva.
- Establish consistent accounting policies, elimination procedures, and intercompany reconciliation protocols across entities.
- Oversee the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation close process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines.
- Manage the collection, validation, and reconciliation of financial data from business units and subsidiaries.
- Perform complex consolidation adjustments, including intercompany eliminations, minority interest calculations, and goodwill/intangible asset management.
- Prepare or oversee consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules for board reporting, investor communications, covenant compliance, and regulatory filings.
- Design and implement automated consolidation workflows to reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
- Establish data governance standards, including chart of accounts harmonization, account mapping, and validation rules.
- Build dashboards and reporting tools that provide real-time visibility into consolidation status and financial performance.
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce close timelines, and strengthen controls.
- Ensure consolidation processes comply with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks such as SOX and COSO.
- Maintain comprehensive consolidation documentation, including working papers, reconciliations, policy summaries, and audit trails.
- Support audit fieldwork and respond to auditor inquiries with clear, evidence-based explanations.
- Coordinate the consolidation aspects of financial audits and remediate findings as needed.
- Build and lead a consolidation team, defining roles, responsibilities, and development plans.
- Mentor team members on consolidation accounting, systems proficiency, and best practices.
- Partner with Controlling, FP&A, and Accounting teams to align consolidation processes with broader financial reporting objectives.
- Collaborate with IT, Legal, and Tax on data integrity, system performance, entity structure considerations, and compliance matters.
- Support M&A activity by designing consolidation approaches for acquired entities and integration timelines.
About You
- 5+ years of experience in financial consolidation, accounting, or finance operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven experience designing and implementing consolidation processes in multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional environments
- Deep knowledge of consolidation accounting, including intercompany eliminations, minority interests, goodwill, and foreign currency translation
- Strong experience with consolidation platforms such as OneStream, Anaplan, Hyperion, Workiva, or similar
- Familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP, with understanding of local GAAP requirements in key markets
- Experience supporting external audits and managing auditor relationships
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex modelling, data validation, and automation
- Strong SQL and data analytics capabilities for working with large, complex datasets
