About OLIX
AI is growing faster than any technology in history and the explosion in demand has created a massive infrastructure gap; we can no longer build chips or power stations fast enough to keep up. The industry is still leaning on a ten-year-old hardware blueprint that has reached its limit. A new paradigm that is faster and more efficient will be the biggest economic opportunity of the next century and create the most important company of the next decade. The OLIX Decode Accelerator 1 (DX-1) is the first accelerator architected specifically for decode. Rack-scale co-design of logic, data movement, packaging, optics and interconnect enables a step change in system level performance.
Role:
As our Operations Specialist – Facilities, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining world-class workplaces across our four global hubs. Based at our London HQ, you will own the day-to-day operations of our flagship office while remotely setting the standard for our offices in Austin, Toronto, and Bristol.
Responsibilities:
Own the day-to-day facilities operations of our London HQ, including running reception, ensuring health and safety compliance, and overseeing space planning.
Evaluate and build relationships with vendors for our new London office, ensuring we have the right partners in place to deliver a world-class environment from day one.
Remotely set the standard for all offices in Austin, Toronto, and Bristol, in partnership with local operational support, ensuring a consistent and high-quality experience across every location. Lead the preparation and logistics for relocating approximately 150 people into our new London HQ, managing timelines, suppliers, and stakeholder communications throughout.
Until the new HQ is complete, manage capacity across our current office and overflow space, ensuring the team is well-supported at every stage of the transition.
Ensure all locations meet health and safety requirements, staying ahead of regulatory obligations and proactively addressing risk.
Identify operational issues independently and implement practical, scalable solutions, making well-reasoned trade-offs across cost, time, and quality.
Collaborate cross-functionally with People, Finance, and leadership teams on workplace initiatives that support our growth and culture.
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience managing facilities in London, with strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
Track record of operating independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment — identifying problems before they escalate and driving solutions without being prompted. Experience managing or coordinating across multiple sites or remote locations, with an ability to influence and align without direct on-site presence.
Strong vendor and supplier management skills, with the ability to negotiate, build lasting relationships, and hold partners to a high standard.
Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to run multiple work streams simultaneously — including large-scale office moves.
-
Comfortable analysing trade-offs at scale, balancing business needs, budget constraints, and employee experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build trust with stakeholders at all levels and across geographies.
Nice to Have
Experience managing facilities for a scaling technology or hardware company, where speed and precision are both critical.
Exposure to managing offices across North America or other international markets.
Familiarity with the specific demands of AI or deep tech environments — high-density hardware, specialised infrastructure, or technical workspace requirements.
