We provide real-time tracking, characterisation, and analytics from LEO to GEO, supporting government and commercial missions with actionable intelligence in seconds. We also deliver tailored sensor system packages, specialist services, and domain intelligence consultancy.

Role Overview

The Project Engineer is responsible for delivering engineering outcomes on a per-contract basis, ensuring that system architectures and segment designs are translated into coherent, integrated, verified, and accepted solutions.

Operating within a matrix environment, the role connects system definition, design inputs, operational constraints, and project commitments, driving engineering execution from design through integration and acceptance. The role acts as the central integration point, ensuring that design inputs converge into a working system aligned to customer needs.

Success is measured by delivery of fully integrated and verified systems that meet defined requirements and achieve customer satisfaction, effective execution and coordination of engineering work at contract level, achievement of technical acceptance, and clear alignment between system design and delivered capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive engineering execution for assigned contracts.
  • Translate system design into deliverable work packages, integration sequencing, and test and verification activities.
  • Elaborate system architecture into contract-specific solutions.
  • Drive convergence of segment design inputs into a coherent, buildable system.
  • Ensure designs are complete, compatible, and ready for integration and test.
  • Own execution of integration, test, evaluation, and acceptance activities.
  • Develop and manage the engineering delivery plan and technical schedule.
  • Manage dependencies across engineering teams, suppliers, and environments.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, risks, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Act as the primary day-to-day technical interface with the customer during delivery.
  • Support bids with technical input, estimates, assumptions, delivery considerations

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in project engineering, systems engineering, integration engineering, or technical delivery in a complex systems environment.
  • Ability to translate system architectures, design inputs, and technical requirements into practical engineering work packages, integration sequences, and verification activities.
  • Strong understanding of integration, test, verification, evaluation, acceptance, and handover activities.
  • Experience coordinating engineering delivery across multiple teams, disciplines, suppliers, or technical environments.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues, integration risks, design gaps, interface issues, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Strong technical communication skills, including acting as a day-to-day technical interface with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, physics, aerospace, space systems, electronics, software, systems engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience in the space, satellite, aerospace, defence, remote sensing, optical sensing, or space domain awareness sectors.
  • Experience delivering ground sensor systems or mission-critical capabilities.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering methods, requirements management, interface control, verification planning, and acceptance evidence.
  • Experience supporting bids, proposals, technical estimates, delivery assumptions, or customer-facing solution definition.
  • Professional training or certification in systems engineering, project engineering, engineering management, INCOSE, quality, assurance, or a related area.

Other Requirements

  • Holds, or is eligible to obtain, UK Security Clearance at SC level or above.
  • Able to commute to London on an agreed basis, anticipated to be weekly, with occasional additional travel for project or customer needs.
  • Able to travel within the UK and internationally to customer and partner sites as reasonably required.
  • Able to maintain access to a reliable broadband connection.
