Director of International Tax – Global Manufacturing | Leadership Opportunity

Ferretti Search is partnering with a global manufacturing organization to identify a strategic and hands-on Director of International Tax to lead worldwide tax operations, reporting, compliance, and planning initiatives. This individual will play a critical leadership role within the global finance organization while partnering closely with executive leadership and international finance teams.

Core focus areas of the role

This role will primarily focus on:

• 40% Global Tax Compliance
• 30–40% Tax Provision & Financial Reporting
• 20–30% General Tax Support, Research & Team Leadership

The three largest responsibilities within the position include:

1. Global Tax Compliance
2. Financial Tax Reporting / Tax Provision
3. Leadership of the Global Tax Function

What you’ll be doing:

Global Tax Compliance

• Lead and oversee worldwide corporate income tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions
• Coordinate with regional finance teams and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings
• Manage external tax providers and internal resources to validate data accuracy and reconcile tax balances
• Oversee domestic and international tax audits as needed
• Ensure adherence to corporate tax policies and evolving regulatory requirements

Tax Provision & Financial Reporting

• Lead quarterly and annual income tax provision processes under ASC 740 and IFRS standards
• Oversee preparation and review of worldwide tax reporting and related disclosures
• Maintain and enhance SOX controls and tax reporting governance processes
• Monitor U.S. and international tax law changes and assess financial statement impacts
• Drive efficiencies and process improvements related to reporting timelines and accuracy
• Assist with valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, and technical tax research

Leadership & Strategic Support

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4–5 tax professionals
• Partner with executive leadership and finance teams on strategic initiatives and operational support
• Assist with tax planning opportunities, acquisitions, integrations, and corporate structuring projects
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, reporting, and automation processes
• Support broader finance initiatives and cross-functional collaboration globally

What we’re looking for:

Experience & Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation strongly preferred
• 10–15+ years of progressive corporate tax experience within a multinational environment
• Strong leadership experience managing and developing tax teams
• Significant experience with Tax Provision and IFRS reporting requirements
• Deep understanding of federal, international, and state/local tax concepts

Technical Skills

• Extensive experience with ASC 740 tax provision preparation and review
• Strong background in global income tax compliance and reporting
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) highly valued
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills

Leadership & Communication

• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
• Strong communication skills across executive and operational teams
• Strategic mindset paired with hands-on execution capability
• Proven ability to prioritize, problem solve, and lead through growth and change
